Swordmaster
Wraths of Time MCD
If you read interviews or reviews of this band you always find that the
guitarist is the brother of Jon Nødtveit of Dissection. I'm quite fed up
with that and I guess the band is too. Will he always be compered to his
big brother? Well I refuse to do so. Who cares if his brother is famous,
he doesn't get a better musician because of that! Another thing that came
out of the reviews and int's was that this is a very good release. Someone
even called Swordmaster one of the 4 best acts from Sweden. Well I got
curious and bought it.
I must say that I got disappointed. It's far from as good as everyone
said. After my first reaction had gone the album was finished (only 14
min. is shameful) so i listened to it again. Hmm it wasn't bad. quite good
actually. Not as good as said, but still some very good stuff. With this
being their debut MCD thefuture looks bright for the boys. The music is
fast Death or black metal with good riffs and very good drumwork. Nothing
really original, all have been done before, but perhaps not in this
combination. I all fits together nicely and is good produced. The layout
could have been much better, and with high class production and good
material Swordmaster can become something great. Oh it's just fucking
14min. long!

Postmortem Tales
Fast B.M. in the same style as the debut MCD which means heavy thrash
influences. The production is better and there are more material then just
14 min. this time so it's well worth the money. I don't quite like the
vocals, but I have several friends who loves it and rates it as the best
album this year. I don't quite agree, but it's a darn good album and it
keeps getting better everytime.
