Lugburz
Starts with a medieval inspired intro made on keyboards that's very nice.
The actual music is abit Burzum like; B.M. with screamy grim vocals and
not so good production. The last songs has even got demo like production.
Not good at all. The material is very good but the drums are quite boring
(no wonder the drummer got sacked after this recording). In later albums
they use a well programmed drummachine which, belive me, sounds much
better. I like this album, not as much as Minas Morgul or Dol Guldur, but
it's still a goos album with originality. I really like the piano and f/x
parts here and there and the medieval sound they have. The raw production
might not be approved by all of you, but it fits the primitive riffs and
the music quite well. This is much faster and raw then the later albums
and it's almost difficult to imagen that it's the same band.

Minas Morgul

Ah! Slow and atmospheric B.M. Very well performed with excellent songs and
melodies. The hoarse and grim vocals are pretty much unhearable so the
texts about Tolkien's fantasy world (so it says) will be unknown. The
music has much keyboard an sound fx like explosions and stuff, plus a well
programmed drum machine instead of a real drummer. Sometimes they also use
very medieval sounding flues (or is it the keyboard again?) in the same
style as Pazuzu. I love this album, Summoning surely is the best band from
Austria. The album is 67 min. and 49 sec long too! Well spent money I'd
say.

Dol Guldur
Much like Minas Morgul but more complex and mature riffs and sound. The
music is about as good as on Minas Morgul so if you liked it, then this
is something for you. The only differance is the nicer cover, more
instruments involved (or at least more keyboard sounds), more civilized
and it's takes longer before it really gets good. This album is also very
long (68:49) so you get much music for your money. I stil like Minas
Morgul better, but it's good stuff.

Nightshade Forests MCD
This is the leftovers from the impressive Dol Guldur album. It’s 4 songs
with a total of 33:45 in length so it’s plenty of music for a low price.
The material is all much the same as on the album both in style and
quality, so it’s nothing left behind because it wasn’t good enough.
There’s not much to say about this and I think that most of you already
know if this is for you.
