Hexerei im Zwielicht der Finsternis

Very psychological music done by two witches in Norway. Nacht & Nebel has with Aghast created one of the most frightening albums ever, just listen two it when your trying to go to sleep and you'll understand. Very dark and scary sounds together with some very sad or cruel melodies. I like this album, it really gives me the creeps when I'll try to sleep especially the last track with the howling wolves in the night.

Hey! What is this shit? I off course had to buy this album without listening to it, guessed if I got a chock or what!. This isn't even metal, not a guitar or a drum beat in the entire 40 minutes. I'm Warning people strongly not to buy it without listening to it first, since you might think it's the usual B.M. style like I did. Don't get me wrong, after about 10 listenings I think a few of the tracks is quite good, but I don't think many of you out there will aprove to Nuclear Holocausto still using the band name Beherit. It would be much better if this was released under a different name, now they will just piss people off.

There's a tounge twister for you, with a title thats almost impossible to prenounse Equimanthorn has created a very controversial album. This is with good marginal the most psych album I've ever heard. The band contains all tree members of Absu plus some of their friends, and the music is even more inspired by the Ancient Ones and the Elder Gods (read Necronomicon). The lyrics are very wierd at first but if you compere them to the necronomicon so will you find some very interresting tales. It's not at all as evil as Aghast is but it's hell of a lot more psycho with lots of wierd samplings and sound effects (seems like they really have played Doom II too much on their computer). The whole album got like a magic spell over it and it is very annoying at first. A matter a fact it took me about ten very tough listenings to it before I started to like it.

Fodt Til Å Herske

Slow beautiful medieval synthmusic from the darkest dungeons of Norway. Mortiis is the ex-bassist of Emperor and left that band because he was so hard too work with, now his on his own and this is his second solo CD, the first being Vond which I unfortunately have not heard. This album however is a great one to play when youre trying too sleep, study or just relax. It can be a bit monotonous if you just listen too it sence the two songs are both 25+min, but when youre doing something else at the same time as you listen so will it just fly by.

Ånden som Gjorde Oppror

This is much better then the first Mortiis CD. The music has more variation and "colour" then the other but in the same process it lost the darker touch it had, instead it's more beautiful and sad and it's easy to imagen that you're standing in and ancient norse land. It has also just two songs but they're both great (infact they are the two best and shortest with 18+ & 21+min). If you only by one of these great three albums, let it be this one.

Keisser av en Dimention Ukjent

This album has the best of the two previous ones: Its as long as the first and has the same dark touch, but it has also got the same great well performed complexed sound of the second. The material though is not as good as on the second album but this is also a very good relaxation CD.

Crypt of the Wizard

Ahh! what an album. 10 great songs with great sound and atmosphere. I must rate this as the best Mortiis album. The reson to the songs being 10 and not 2 as usual is the fact that this is the upcoming five 7" singles put together to one CD. They are limitet to 500 copies each but this Cd is done in an astonishing 5000 copies! You should really try to get hold of this or even better, the five 7". By the way, the artwork is done by John Bauer if anyone wants to know.

Raison D'Etre

Prospectus I

Seems like Raison is trying to copying the sound and style of Enigma and Mortiis with some sampled parts from movies (?) and some wierd keyboards, but he doesn't succed very well. The album got a few good parts but is just too damn boring, and doesn't give me much pleasure. And can someone shoot those damn monks, they are very annoying to me as an antichristian. No this isn't good, but some of his newer work seems alot better, or so I have heard.

Fra Fjelltronen

This is the long awaited none metal project of Satyr Wongraven of such great bands as Satyricon and Storm. It seems as everything he does is a success and this is no exception. With some aid of Ihsahn (of Emperor and Thou Shalt Suffer) has he created a fenomenal album. It mostly reminds of some classical work like Grieg and I belive he has been a great influence. The sound is very modern though with keyboards and synths put together nicely with normal vocals to get a very beautiful harmonic "riffs" with a medieval atmosphere of the same high class as Mortiis perhaps ever greater. I just love to put this album on as I'm going too sleep and just let my mind travel away to an ancient place in the northern nature.
