Kiss the Goat

Here's a new upcoming Swedish band with lots of potential. It's not the typical northern B.M., but more harmonic and easier to listen to. They use a girl of flute to give it a certain touch to the music and that is their strongest move. I simply love the flut "riffs". I like it very much but it's missing that little bit of extra edge that so few bands got. Other then that, this is a very strong debut album and the one's to come can be very promising.

Enter the Moonlight Gate

This album cover might be the best cover I have got (OK, it has some stiff competition, but it looks lovely on the CD-wall). The music is fast, intence and brutal B.M. that has well improved since the debut. Very good production and they have still got those nice flute tunes here and there plus some cello and female vocals. No keyboards are used, only real instruments! I think that this album reminds abit of Sacramentum's "Far Away from the Sun" and Dark Funeral's "The secrets of the Black arts" and I think that the sound is to blame. It's therefore not the most original band, but it's still quite fresh and their use of original instruments gives it a certain touch. The material is all good and so is the production and the performance. The slow and nice acoustic song in the middle a lá Dissection gives the listener a chance to catch his/her breath. The last sone ends with a 5min. silence followed by a percussion rich outro that makes it over 20 min. long. In all the album is nearly 55min. so it's well spended money. (Get the digi-pack version with the cover as a poster!)
