HEart of the Ages

Now here's an odd B.M. band. Very high quality music with lots of slow
atmospheric parts that suddenly abrupted by screaming guitars and very
high grim voices. The slower parts reminds of Mortiis and Wongraven
(basically the same kind of style) but here we also have extreme B.M.
involved. The music is well written and pretty well performed, but the
production and sound quality could have been better. I like it a lot and I
think most of you do, but do listen to it before you buy it if you're not
sure.

No more black metal and no more hysterical vocals. Still it's alot of
metal and it's very epic and relaxing. This all makes it much like
Bathory's epic "Twilight of the Gods" without reminding of it too much.
They still use the same male/female vocals that before and most other
elements, so most of you will recognize this. Lots of
keyboards/cello7violin and other instruments like that. Taking away the
extreme vocals was a good move in my opinion, as this is much easier to
listen too. Perhaps too easy at times (I easily fall asleep to this just
like I do to "Twilight of the Gods". Some fast riffs and great heavy metal
feeling, but mostly sad and beautiful music to relax to. Very nice layout.
The earlier released "The Return to the Isle of Man" is a rerelease of
their demo on CD. It has pretty much the same material as the debut album
but the production isn't very good. Oh by the way; this album is over 63
min long!
