Funeral
Tragedies
A very talented female vocalist lead sings this ewtremely slow and
miserable Norweigan Doom Death metal band together with a more
traditional growling male. This 5 pice seems to be mostly influenced
by My Dying Bride and their alike, but the music is much slower and even
more miserable. I can also feel a slight artistic touch that one finds in
3rd and the Mortal's music, but not as strong. I think it's not wrong to
say that it's the extremest Doom Death metal I've heard that isn't too
boring. The slow metal riffs are balanced with acoustic guitars in a nice
harmony, but I must say that it gets too slow and miserable for me
sometimes. Songs this slow and long easily gets boring and only a genious
can keep the listener interested for the whole song. 5 songs and over 58
min playing time makes it tough at times. I guess that this is the most
difficult genre to write music in. To make such long songs without getting
boring must be hard. With this album Funeral has only partly succeded.
It's sometimes very boring, but mostly it's quite good. I think all of you
who are into this kind of music should check this out, you might like it.
