Ravendusk in my Heart

I have waited a while for this album, I didn't know that it would be called Ravendusk in my Heart or even what the band's name was, but finally it came. This is made by Blackheim, the former member of one of Sweden’s absolute best groups ever, Katatonia. Ever since I heard of the tragic splittering of Katatonia have I been waiting for some new and interesting groups to rise from the ashes. I must admit that I got a bit skeptical when I heard the band name but I thought I'd check it out. This one man band is one of the newest and most promising bands in the Swedish scene right now and this is a great album. The music is a bit original B.M. with keyboards and some cool trash riffs plus a high production by Dan Swanö in the Unisound studio. The only thing negative on the whole album is those 10 seconds of backing vocals by Swanö on one of the songs. He's there in almost all songs but in one particular is it very annoying. He's singing with very shitty feminine glam vocals with almost ruins everything. Apart from that, Buy!

The Phantom Lodge

Aaaahh! Finally the 2nd album from this great band... The debut was a brilliant one which many ranked as one of the best debuts ever, and this is a worthy follower. Musically it's much the same, perhaps abit more heavy metal, but the material is better and it's all over better done. there are brilliant guitar work and superb riffs everywhere. If you liked Ravendusk..., you'll like this aswell.
