Darkwoods my Betrothed

Heirs of the Northstar

Viking metal from Finland with very high + ordinary vocals. Good riffs and songs with keyboards, that's well played and good sound too, but yet again that little extra is missing. This is somewhat different then the other Viking metal bands I've heard and it sounds really good. The lyrics are great if you want to know more about our ancestors or their gods.

Autumn Roars Thunder

It opens up slower, more majestetic, and more harmonic then their debut. Then its faster and more brutal, so it variates more then the previous. It has both ordinary and grim vocals plus a few segments with talking parts. The grim vocals are just as unhearable as usual, but there are much more normal vocals this time. I think this is a good album with nice riffs and great keyboards that sometimes really gives you that viking feeling. That, plus the hammering drums is what I like with this band. The best track on this release must be the awesome last track, with choir like vocals and the best of riffs. The production is also better this time (not that it was anything wrong with the debut). One thing bugs me: why is the lyrics printed in the wrong order in the bocklet?
