Countess
The Return of the Horned One

This Dutch two-pice (I think) is far from the usual black metal stuff,
it's not so fast but has more keyboards and one of the most extreme vocals
I've heard on a album. The whole music is very extreme mainly because of
the poor production. It’s nothing for the easily minded and not many fancy
this at all. I, on that matter is on who do, at least when I'm in the
right mood, and it grows every time I
hear it. I like the extreme screaming vocals and the dirty guitars, that
has the same style as on Ancient’s first but with worse production, and
the cruel keyboards (The intro even reminds of Aghast!). It's a shame that
they use drum machine instead of a real drummer. Some of the riffs
gives me the feeling that I'd heard them before on an old KISS album or
something like that. Some riffs are very heavy metal inspired with gives a
nice variation to the other fast B.M. riffs. If you like this you'll love
it but if you don't you'll hate it. So I don’t recommend anyone buying
this without hearing it first.

Ad Majorem Sathanae Gloriam
Much more mature with softer parts containing acoustic guitars and
keyboards, but there are still those primitive extreme parts left with
grim vocals and a hard guitar sound. Orlok calls this Orthodox Black Metal
and I think that describes it quite well. It's very weird at times and
just like the debut I don't think many of you will actually like this si I
strongly advice you to listen to it before you'd buy it.
