Burzum/aske

This is what I call music! I don't think any of you have missed Count
Grishnackh's doings and I don't think many of you approve to them, but can
this man make music or what? This is the two first albums on one, and I
think it's two of the best albums ever on the same CD. They're really
primitive and evil with extremely high voices and incredible good
material but they also got nice harmonies. I think it's pretty admirable
to think that he both wrote the entire material and played all the
instruments on all albums (5 in one year). This is one of the best albums
ever in my book.

Det Som En Gang Var

Personally I don't think this album reach quite as high as the previous
but this is also a very good album. Perhaps the material is not as good as
on the first one, but the sound is a little bit better on this
one.

Hvis Lyset Tar Oss

This album has only 4 songs but is 44min29s long. The first track is
possibly Burzum's best ever (and it's 14min 21s) but then comes two that
isn't that good, they're both to monotonous. Finally the last song is a
all keyboard track with great harmonies and the best of atmospheres.
The last track is perhaps a little bit of a taste of what's coming when
Grishnackh releases his all synthetic project called Hlidskjalf.

Filosofem

The last and a great Burzum album. It's basically the same style in music
and material as in "Hvis Lyset tar Oss" but the 3 first songs are
much better and in the same class as the great song "Det Som en gang Var"
I really love this album, it's superior. Since Burzum is devided into five
parts is Grishnackh only doing five albums. That, I, and I believe many
others also think, is very sad to hear, because these five albums are
some of the best ever. Back to this album then: It has got six songs of
which tree has unbelievable good riffs, and an all synth track of 25+ min
much like Tomhet on the previous album. In total this album is 64+ min!
Then there are two songs which isn't that good but is listenable. And
almost coolest of all... the cover is made like a book! That makes it a
bit more expensive the other albums, but you get one of the awesomest
packages ever. The book got a few real pages with texts by Grishnackh and
the lyrics of the songs both in english and German. All the
texts are about how people betrayed the ancient Viking gods and became
christians, Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh's alias) is as many of you
know a Odinnist and worships the ancient Norse gods.
By the way, Have anyone seen Burzum's video for the first song Dunkelheit?
It was a cool video with nature fotography and lots of ancient norse
runes. I loved it.
