Bewitched
Diabolical Desecration

Heavy trash influenced B.M. in the old school. Reminds a bit of Mercyful
Fate, Venom and Slayer (maybe not as fast though). I don't think the grim
vocals fit the music at all. I know many of you out there love the old
style over everything else and I think you will like this as well. Very
well performed with nice riffs (sometimes a bit too obviously stolen
though) and very good production. The music are done by Blackheim from
Katatonia with aid from a formed Throne of Ahaz member plus two other
guys. The guitarwork on this album is amazing. I must say that it grows
after each listening and it's a rather original style these days so I give
it a very high grade eventhough it is quite obviously stolen.

I enjoy the sound of Bewitched more and more eventhough the vocals
still doesn't quite fit their music and this is no exception. Well the
vocals are much better with a few exceptions. After a cool intro it
starts of with a series of cover songs and first out is Venom's
"Warhead". It fits Bewitched style very well and the vocals sounds more
oldstyle. It might not be as good as the original, but it's still a
great song. The second song is a cover of the splendid Bathory
masterpice "Sacrifice". It's intence, fast and very good too. Very well
performed, but the vocals isn't really right. The third tune is a
happy little track called "Evil" originaly performed by Mercyful Fate.
Now I'm no big fan of Mercyful Fate or King Diamond, so I can't
compere this to the original, but I've heard that this isn't as good.
It's still a good performance but don't expect to hear any of the
King's high pitched screams. The fourth track is a great cover of
Celtic Frosts classic "Circle of the Tyrants" which is very well
performed with a closeness to the original with it's deathy vocals.
The last cover is a strange pice of music called "Come to the Sabbath"
by Black Widow. It's highly original and almost a cappella in the
chorus. I like this song very much and it's together with "Circle of
the Tyrants" the best on this album. It all finishes with a live(?)
version of their own "Hellcult" from the debut album. It's quite good
also with good sound. All in all I like this album and listen to it
quite often eventhough all the originals are better. Oh by the way,
It's 25:36 long.

Thrash metal! This has everything that "Diabolical Desecration" might
have lacked. It has more power, better material and better production.
I still think that the vocal style ruins it a bit, but it's easier to
live with here. So much 80's feeling it's hard to think that it's new.
But it's still fresh. This is an album you want to hear over and over
again. I'm not to good at the old 80's heroes so I can't decide how
many riffs's that have been stolen, but I can guess on a whole bunch.
