I usually don't review demo's as I don't think it's necessary. If the band is any good they will have a CD out later the same year anyway, so why bother the time and most important, space on reviewing it? Anyway, I decided to do an exception for this band as they have a couple of good demos out, and they sent me their latest for free if I'd reviewed it (yes I'm a poser who want demos and albums for free...). So I did.
The first thing that striked me was the good production. It was a long time ago I heard a demo with this good production. It's very professional. The music is some sort of technical Death/Thrash metal with some black elements and deathy almost gory vocals. The vocal part reminds me much of Autopsy's hoarse and original style, but there's also some grimmer and more black metal oriented ones aswell. The music is all well performed and it's good material. It's not very original perhaps, but it's still interesting and very good so I'd be surprised if Anata won't get a contract soon. We'll just have to hope that some company will get the black metal out of the ears and sign a good death metal act instead. It's 4 songs and 22 min. of good old quality death metal.
