Oimai Algeion

Algaion is a Swedish B.M. band that recently came out with this, their debut album. It isn't anything really special although they got a bit of a own sound, dark and fast black metal with some keyboards. The material don't give you that edge but the recording and producing is good. The intro on this album is an very cool all keyboard and sound effect track with music that seems too have comed directly from a well done horror movie, it's quite psycho actually. Apart from it only the last track stands out because the normally grim singer has got help from a talented female which gives it a nice touch. I think this band can become very good in the future 'cause of the good sound and production, but this album don't give me much although some of my friends really likes it.

Vox Clamentis MCD

One of the ugliest covers for a long time if you ask me, but the music is fast and brutal B.M. that's well produced, has lots of power and is over all much better then the debut CD. The biggest improvement is the much better material. I would go so far as to say that this is one of the best MCD's I've heard and it was a big positive surprise. The vocals are very cool.

General Enmity

Ugly cover - great album. OK lets make it a little deeper. The material is better and the production very good, but it’s still much the same with even more original vocals. The fourth song is something of a ballad, which really surprised me , but it soon turned out to be the best one. Several songs are really good although some tend to bore me after a while. I guess it’s because I don’t like the vocal style that much. I have friends that do and they praise this band much higher then I do. Some riffs are a little more heavy metal or thrash and sometimes the music is so slow it’s doomy. Perhaps I should change the label of this band to Black Doom Metal? Well who cares? It’s original and that’s good, but it still didn’t give me that last edge.
