13 Candles
Angels of Mourning Silence
This is Vampire metal in it’s "natural" form. Doomy and very gothic metal
that leave you with a nocturnal desire for blood. The music reminds much
of other doom rock and doom death metal bands such as Sisters of Mercy and
My Dying Bride, but it’s not deathy in any way other then the music is
from other side of the grave. It also makes me think of Moonspell’s
"Irreligious" as they have a similar sound. The music is slow and
melodical with some faster mid tempo parts and the vocals are normal with
a great feeling which might be this bands biggest asset. They use lots of
keyboards and some f/x. The only weakness in my opinion is the sucky
drummachine on the first tracks. After a few songs it gets much better and
is alright, but the first song is horrible. A couple of songs are more in
the industrial metal vain which I don’t really think fit with the rest of
the album, but they are still very good stuff. All in all I think that
they have created a splendid album with lots of feeling that problebly
will last for a long time. So if you’re into gothic metal or vampire metal
then you should check this out.
